The B-52’s
The B-52’s
1979: Warner Bros 3355-2
One of the greatest albums ever, ever, EVER.
What could I possibly write about this that hasn’t already been said? It’s a kick-ass album. “52 Girls” and “Dance This Mess Around” keep me addicted to it, and “Hero Worship” is one of my absolute favorite recordings—Cindy Wilson’s vocal is just balls-to-the-wall fabulous atop Ricky’s downright filthy-and-low guitar work. And after my friend Elizabeth explained why she liked “Planet Claire,” the one track I’d never really gotten into, I started to see it, too.
My cassette copy of this has their cover of “Downtown” followed by that of Mrs Miller. Welcome to my world.
