For my general feelings about The Beatles, see my comments for their Revolver album. This album is in my collection because it contains many of their recordings that I actually LIKE. Top on that list is “I Feel Fine,” my favorite Beatles recording, with “Day Tripper” and “Drive My Car” a little way below it and “Norwegian Wood,” “Paperback Writer,” and “Rita Meter Maid” hanging about for Best-Runner-Up billing (although the latter track isn’t on this compilation, dammit). One of these days I’ll get around to adding Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band to my collection, but obviously I’ve not felt the need to rush it.
