I bought this in December 2019 as a Christmas present for my parents (especially my father) and also got a copy for myself, after hearing several of its tracks on the streaming online “radio” station Evensong throughout the year; I was struck by how redolent of Advent many of its songs inherently were, so much that I knew they were carols even without learning that from the lyrics (which are almost all in Gaelic). Probably the track that sold me on the purchase was “Tàladh Ar Slànair,” which has harmonies that not only aspire to be celestial but, impressively, actually achieve that end…quite radiantly. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.
