Trancendental
1995: Look Studio/CNI PDL 744
Very, very yummy stuff, especially from the third track on, but far too short (barely 30 minutes long). In fact, I’d be the first in line for a 3-hour CD of stuff like Tracks 3, 4, and 5, especially the first two versions of “Salah” which truly are worthy of the “band’s” name. The overall effect is deliciously Italo-Turkish techno. As this album predates the others by Trancendental I’ve heard, albums which incorporate some of the same musical themes, I gather they’ve recycled their work much as Peter Gabriel did with his Birdy soundtrack.
My gratitude to Compagnia Nuove Indye, of Rome, for having this baby available for sale online when it appeared that nobody else did. This is justification enough in itself to make me return to their website and browse for more such goodies.
